I live on a mountain known as Chirripo. In the language of the indigenous Cabecar, this name means the home of the eternal waters. And the name is apt. Rivers and streams abound. Presently it is summer and dry and hot, but when it rains, it pours. And those of us who live here cherish every drop. Water cleanses. Water heals. Water moves. As of this week we have entered the season of the great waters of Pisces, and have we moved into a time of letting go, of opening, and expansion. Welcome to Aguas Eternas.
The Sun is sailing towards several portentous meetings in this coming week. First, on Saturday, the Moon arrives in Virgo and bloom into the fullness of the Snow Moon. Pisces and Virgo, Christos and Madonna, the ocean and the drop. These two archetypes have presided over the past two thousand years of history, and there is so much stored in their relationship. Can we see through the self-abnegation and guru worship Pisces can bring on and come towards a more perfect discernment? This is the last full moon of the astrological year before the vernal equinox in March. The Virgo Moon, ruled by Mercury, is a clarion call to repair, repent, revitalize and renew those parts of our self that have been sitting on the shelf for too long and need a clearing.
This is a juicy Moon for the kindling and rekindling of the union. Jesus and Mary, two of the avataras of this ongoing age, are held in the balance between the Virgin (pure one) and the Fishes. We are all of us rebels in Judea, fomenting a secret revolution, one that will bring the kwingdom from within.
And just yesterday, Venus caught up to Mars in Aquarius to form their first perfect conjunction in almost 2 years. The pull and the push coming together. The ebb and the flow. It is a beautiful time to remember what you love about your beloveds, and how to meet them in the best way.
They are in a loose square to Jupiter in Taurus, showing that challenges to material circumstances may be intervening in the domestic bliss — but with the Aquarian themes of communion, evolution, and insight, we have the opportunity this week to take circumstances that in the past would have dragged us into stress and scarcity, and instead move through them with presence, grace, and fortitude.
In the days following the full moon, the Sun will come to conjunct Saturn, who is almost one year into his three year residence and dominion over the outer waters of Pisces, on a journey to eventually meet Neptune before their mutual rebirth in Aries in 2026. Like a stone dropping into a pond, the Sun-Saturn union will create ripples on and beneath the surface. Remember to rest, in the midst of the big motion. To let down the sails and drop anchor, even for a day. This is the antidote to the inflation of identifying as the whole ocean and the deflation of thinking you are but an isolated drop. You are both, and neither. You are the wave rippling through the water, a vibration taking form for a few short decades.
May that vibration be one of peace, inclusion, revelation, truth. Let’s bring the kingdom into our hearts through radical acts of love. Let’s unite. Water is life.
