Fire Horse Commences
For the majority of the world’s people, today is a holy day. Mardi Gras. Ramadan. Chinese New Year. Mahashivaratri. The Solar Eclipse. The last feast, the great fast, the hard charge, the ritual cleanse, the new start — all at the same time. It’s time to give thanks, to create, and to throw yourself into creating the life and the world you know you want to see. This is Body Made of Stars for this new beginning.
The astrology of this week is frankly historic. After Saturn was reborn into Aries on February 13th, it has been drawing closer and closer to a conjunction with Neptune at 0° Aries — the highlight of many astrologers’ 2026 forecasts. That conjunction only happens once every 36 years (the last time was in 1989), but for it to occur at the 1st degree of the entire zodiac is an epochal event. The last time the two met at this degree was approximately 9,000 years ago, right around the emergence of agriculture and the ensuing buildup of human civilization and accumulation of power. Are we at a moment where things can change as drastically as they did back then?
This morning’s eclipse in Aquarius is an indication of the great unveiling that has been occulting reality for well over a decade. If we can summon the will to organize, communicate, collaborate, and innovate new systems, there is a great opportunity in this year that has now begun — an opportunity to make a big change and shake off the parasitic death-cult energy of the money hoarder, the child abuser, the life-discarding force that has been bleeding the world dry for many generations. We do not need them; they need us, and it is up to us to cleanse ourselves of this parasitic hold. What are you doing to bring about revelation and transformation in your own life and community? The moon and the sun have aligned at the anoretic degree of the communal, revolutionary sign of Aquarius, urging us to take up the mantle and change our world for the better — for the sake of our children and the next seven generations. But nobody said it would be easy.
Today we begin a new Chinese year. They always begin on the second new moon after the winter solstice. This one is among the most intense of all sixty signatures of the five elements and twelve signs.
The fire horse is passionate, and in a rapid forward motion it is known for its propensity towards change and travel. Depending on the context: battle. We are all being invited to be warriors this year — but let it be that we get the chance to be warriors in a garden and not gardeners in a war. Let us fight for what we believe in through dedication and consistent action. I personally have rarely felt more motivated and inspired to do everything I can for my family, my community, and for the earth as a whole as I do today. It can be a very exciting time; let’s use it wisely.
Mercury is positioning himself for his retrograde through nearly all of Pisces, which begins on February 26th — just nine days away. If you have deals to make and contracts to sign, better to do it sooner rather than later, unless you are willing to wait until the equinox in March. The eclipse has now occurred. This is a great moment to look at your material conditions — your bank account, your work — and see where you can clean things up and make changes that bring greater prosperity as we head inexorably toward revolutionary technological singularities that seem to intensify week by week.
Softening this alignment is Venus just about conjunct the North Node in Pisces — a planetary destiny of deepened relationship with spirit. The ocean and the Goddess have been growing for the last year and a half as the North Node has transited Pisces, and that transit is nearing its conclusion. This eclipse is part of the completion of that cycle, and with Venus meeting the North Node in the sky, it is an invitation to deepen love and attraction — not just to a partner or the opposite sex, but to life itself.
We are here not to scheme and stream and live on screens, but to experience all that this world has to offer — as much intensity and vividness as we can handle. Set your mind right. Dive into the ocean, leap off the precipice, take a swim in the deep end of the pool. Your ancestors are waiting for you; they believe in you, and your descendants know that you were the right person to be here and carry their legacy forward through this great turning and beyond. You have what it takes. We are going to make it because we are worthy. We know it. We live in bodies made of stars.
