Body Made of Stars Returns!
It has been a long time! I stepped away from my regular astrological updates - and my broader internet persona - in order to focus on the most momentous creation of my life thus far.
Alongside my beautiful fiancée Hunnywomb, I am now the proud poppa of a perfect child, our beloved son, Rhythm. Born under a Taurus son at the end of April, we have been in a bubble of creation, contemplation, meditation and love for the past 3 and a half weeks. Rhythm is the most content, kind, gentle and present baby imaginable. We are overjoyed.
And now, the three of us, and all of us, get to step into a new season, and a new life, together as a family.
This morning, the sun rises in Gemini. As it does so, it comes conjunct with the revolutionary/evolutionary energy of Uranus, who is beginning a 6 year journey through the sign of the twins that portends major upheavals in the way we communicate, relate to technology, and negotiate power on a global scale. Uranus in Gemini has often coincided with major conflagration and transformation on the world stage. The last time it made entered Gemini was 1941 to 49. Before that, 1858 to 66. And before that, 1775 to 81. Each time bringing both era-defining war, and era-initiating transformations in thought and tech. What will it bring, this time around? How can each of us contribute to the best outcomes for ourselves, our communities, and the world at large?
One thing is for certain: to thrive in this era, community is a necessity. We have been blown away by the presence and the support of our friends and family, with hot meals arriving on our doorstep every day since we came home with our tiny giant bundle, presence and love from our people near and far, and the feeling that a village has our backs — and we have theirs. Gemini is the sign of friendship, kindredness and community. Get together and gossip, garden, strategize, and scheme. This is the only way a vanguard can come together. Groups of motivated people, working towards a common goal. Call your council today. Mercury, the Sun, and Uranus are all there waiting for the word.
As the Sun gets gossipy, Venus is turning towards her sensual celebration alongside her fellow beneficent Jupiter, having entered Cancer on the 18th. Venus in Cancer invites us to show our love as tenderness, patience, presence, touch. Out of our heads and into our hearts, where the highest magic awaits.
And after a fiery spring, the Arian conflagration is finally cooling, as Mars has moved on from rulership and into the level-headed, powerful and earthy Taurus as of today. Mars in Taurus is a time to work on our bodies, our banks, and our gardens, bringing our focus and labor to the physical, material, and material side of life. If you’ve had a project on the drawing board, it’s time to start getting dirty and seeing how well it can take root when you actually put your shoulder into it.
The outer planets have all made their moves, and the impossible intensity of that initial Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries is waning ever so slightly as Saturn moves ahead out of orb. The challenge to safety, security and sanity will persist throughout the lord of time’s journey through his fall in the sign of the Ram, and by now its old hat to invoke the reality of the new limits on physical prosperity and growth of the economy that came as their conjunction began at the end of February and the flow of the hydrocarbon ormus was choked as the modern day Reich in their epic, inchoate fury closed the Strait.
The challenges we contend with are numerous and mounting. But looking in to my baby’s deep blue eyes I am reminded that the gift of life is as poignant now as ever. We owe to our ancestors and our descendants - and all life on this gorgeous earth - to not fall prey to our lower impulses. To break through our addictions to distraction, accumulation, self-abnegation, and pity. To live our lives truly and fully. To remember how good it is to be alive, aware, awake. In bodies made of stars.
With love and peace
Samu
